A God Who Cares “For I Know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 29:11 We have read this passage of scripture many times, quoted it, meditated on it and declared, however, we have overlooked a very important factor which makes the word of God powerful. This is the word of the Lord by the prophet Jeremiah to the children of Israel who were carried away captive by King Nebuchadnezzar into Babylon. God promised that He would deliver them but until that day comes; they should build houses, plant gardens, get married and have children, and increase in the land of their captivity. He also told them to pray for the peace of the city they dwelt in, for when there is peace in the land they will have peace (Jeremiah 29:4-10).
