Exploring God’s Love: Loving God His Way

The way we love God sometimes is not the way He requires us to love Him!  Loving God requires us to know His love language. Today we begin to explore loving God His way.

If you love me, keep my commands." - Yeshua (Jesus). John14:15

God’s love language!

God’s commandments are His love language.

 Read Exodus 20:1-17

God' Commands are two categories:

    • Our relationship with Him. Exodus 20:2-11
    • Our relationship with each other. Exodus 20:12-17

Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.

Exodus 20:8-11

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. For six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of the Lord your God; on it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male slave or your female slave, or your cattle, or your resident who stays with you. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and everything that is in them, and He rested on the seventh day; for that reason the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.”

The First Commandment with a Promise.

Exodus 20:12

“Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

Important lessons to learn:

    • God has given us a specific day of worship
    • The way we treat each other is a reflection of our relationship with GodJohn 13:35

“By this all people will know that you are My disciples: if you have love for one another.”John 13:35

The depth of God's love is infinite, but if we learn His ways we can learn to love Him the way He desires.

Love & Blessing!

DON'T WAKE THE BEAST!

My mom had a way of conveying here wisdom in such a way that would make you laugh and think at the same time.  When things weren't going well or she heard of a problem between two people she would often say; "When you find your head in a lion's mouth take your time and draw it out." What she meant was that a lion is a fierce beast, but when he is sleeping he is harmless as a dove. If you are having problem with someone don't get angry and stir anger in the person because you might not be able to escape the fierceness of his or her wrath. Next time you find yourself in a dispute with someone and feel the need to get angry, remember not to wake the beast. It is best to keep calm and walk away than to wake the lion within the person and get devoured.  Proverbs 15:1 - A soft answer turns away wrath, but harsh words stir up anger.
ENDURE TO THE END Scripture Reading Ecclesiastes Chapter 9 2012 has been an interesting year, 2013 will be even a more interesting one.  It is always easy to begin something new with zeal and passion but when situations arise it becomes hard to endure.  Many times we face unexpected problems and because we don’t know how to deal with them we give up and loose hope.     Nonetheless, it will be a prosperous year for those who can endure to the end. The race is not for the swift nor the battle for the strong,  Ecclesiastes 9:11 .  As believers we will suffer many things for the sake of the Gospel. Men will revile us and persecute us without a cause.  It is the plan of the enemy to hold us captive and cause us to lose sight of the future that God has prepared for us. He will do everything to destroy us.  One of his most effective tool since creation has been deception.  In  Genesis 3:1-7 ; it was Satan’s ability to make ...
RECLAIMING OUR COMMUNITY When we think about the condition of our communities we are not just fighting against guns and gang violence, but against spiritual wickedness in high places. In order to reclaim our community we must first recognize the source of the problem, confront the problem, and then conquer the problem.                                                            Recognize—Confront—Conquer The War Against Violence This war against violence is not just a physical one, it is also a spiritual war. In the physical realm we need to bond together and say no longer will we allow the violence to take over our community. It will take everyone corporation. On the spiritual aspect of the war we need to understand that our fight is not against the gang members but against the spirit of murder that is driving our young peop...
