Stay in the Know

Today I am sharing with you essentials for growth and success. Personal Development is essential in being successful in life. It is imperative that you find ways to develop your skills and increase your knowledge. You must know your craft, your art and stick to it. Precisely speaking, know what you are good at and do it well. Always find ways to develop your skills and increase your knowledge. In today’s world of technology, the traditional scope of being informed has changed dramatically. A few years ago, one would have to enroll in an educational institution to acquire certain skills or knowledge in any industry, however, today with just the click of a button you can access information across the globe in various forms such as: eBooks, videos, mp3, apps, articles, and webinars.

Forthrightly, if you are serious about what you do and want to improve your skill set and knowledge base it can be accomplished at little or no cost to you if you are willing to invest the time. In knowing your craft, it is also equally important to “do you.” In the pursuit of development, it is vital not to try and imitate or remodel the personality of someone else. Remain authentic to who you are! Remember the goal is to develop you, not to remake yourself into a cheap copy of another person. This is important because there will be a wide range of others who are working in the same craft or scope as you, yet it is your personality that will cause you to standout. Your personality will make the difference among the school of fish in your sea when clients are seeking your service or product. In this scope of your life, it is OK to stick out like a “sore thumb.” Being different is what will get you that project or sale. Although you want to speak the language as fluently as others, you don’t want to lose your accent. Your accent is what makes you unique. As a Jamaican, people easily identify me by accent no matter to which country I travel. Use your “accent” (your uniqueness) to your advantage. The principle thing, here just be you!

In developing oneself you must also Know the current trends, remain accurate and relevant. No need to go about selling sunglasses during a rain storm. Don’t try to use a line to catch a barracuda when using wire is more effective. Hence, the need for personal development. It is essential to keep in the know. Trending now across the United States of America is the notion that “Black Lives Matter,” grasping even the attention of youngster such as Royce Mann (Atlanta teen) whose video has gone viral because of his ability to tap into the emotions of people with his poem “white Boy Privilege.” Our network providers have  also tapped into our pockets with “unlimited data,” serving a need for more data usage and anytime, anywhere internet access. Our telecommunications companies are relevant and trendy. It would be imprudent for them not to move with the flow of technology and stand the chance of losing billions of dollars each year. No one will know what your clients need more than you; take the time to do your research, your homework, whatever you want to call it. Just do the work and you will see the results.

Personal Development and growth for success depends on the work and time that you are willing to invest in yourself. Continue to build, acquire the necessary skills and knowledge you need. Remain current, give yourself the opportunity to stand above the crowd. Master your craft and be authentically you while doing it.

Jeremiah 29:10-13 10 For thus saith the Lord, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.  11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.  12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.  13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Most people in life can trace their family line as far back as four generations. Yet some of us don’t know our biological parents much more to know our grand-parents. Ever since I was a child I always heard my mom and her sisters talked about their parents as if it was some kind of mysterious fairy-tale.  Though my mother and her three siblings are of the same mother and father, it is a mystery to me how two of them ended up with different last n...

Recognizing a Need for Change

So, you woke up this morning as you have every other morning (by the grace of God) and as you head to the bathroom you glimpse yourself in the dresser mirror, but had to take a step back for another look because you didn’t recognize the person in the mirror. I am giving you three simple steps to take towards the road of change. Let me encourage you today, you are already on your way to making changes. Yes, that’s right; your initial step towards change is identifying a need for change. Carried Away

Many of us are being carried away with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting and being tossed to and fro because of spiritual malnutrition. It is evident in our society as we see the rise of prosperity gospel and the infiltration of new age practices in our churches. Believers are being led astray because those who are called to lead are not executing the plan of God for the church or ministry in which they are called to serve. Leaders are more concerned about their agendas and programs rather than the purpose of God. The word of God has set forth the ministry of the church and the purpose of its leaders. In Ephesians chapter 4:7-16,  the Apostle Paul gives us a clear picture of the governing body (earthly) of the body Christ and its function; yet there are churches today who are operating without the order of government as established in Scriptures. This governing body: Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers ...
